The first piece of artwork that I feel demonstrates what I would like to be is a website that I designed and coded using Dreamweaver. I have experience in several website languages, and enjoy that side of web design a lot. I do also like creating images and making them into a website, but coding is my preferene. This particular website is for a band that I know, called The Dead End. My career goal is to be a web designer; maybe freelance, or maybe not.

Self Portrait

This piece is from my first class here at Stout, 2D design. First, I hate drawing self-portraits. In high school, we did a lot of them and I was pretty sick of it. However, this particular assignment had a twist that I had never done before: the shading was to be done in writing. We could write anything we wanted, except we were not really supposed to use song lyrics (I may, or may not have done so anyway). This piece is an expression of me in that everything written was what I was thinking or feeling at the time.
Digital Series

This series was a lot of fun for me. We were to take images and merge them in a way that wasn't expected. We could use animals, flowers, anything we wanted really as long as it was stock photography or our own images. To me, these show my ability to work at a fast pace and well under pressure. I changed my idea for the project on a thursday, and it was due printed and mounted the next tuesday. Funny how they're self portraits and yet I hate drawing myself...

This is definitely unexpected, I have never seen images like this, so it becomes unexpected at first glance. The quality of the imported wild cat images are great, this helps tighten the already opposing images. One other strong element is the meshing of the two images, there's no blurring or sloppyness.
